In the film, Zhang Xiaolong, Wang Tai and others are once teammates who have gone through adversity together and close as family. Later, Zhang Xiaolong and Wang Tai have a disagreement. Wang Tai is filled with hatred and wants to frame Zhang Xiaolong during a mission. Lian dies to save Zhang Xiaolong, and Zhang Xiaolong retires in despair. Wang Taili chooses to become a villain and frames Zhang Xiaolong. Zhang Xiaolong suffers the tragic death of his girlfriend, the betrayal of his brother, and is charged with murder and wanted by both the triad and the authorities. However, instead of becoming depressed, he faces it optimistically. He gathers like-minded partners to fight to the death against Wang Tai's triad.
